    World leaders react to Lebanon war ceasefire

    SINGAPORE

    Singapore welcomed the ceasefire agreement, calling it a constructive first step in the direction of restoring stability within the area.

    “We hope that every one events will respect and adjust to the phrases of the settlement,” mentioned the Ministry of International Affairs in a press release. “The settlement will facilitate the return of civilians to their houses on either side of the Israel-Lebanon border.”

    CHINA

    China mentioned it was “paying shut consideration to the present scenario in Lebanon and Israel”.

    “We assist all efforts conducive to easing tensions and reaching peace and welcome the settlement reached by related events on a ceasefire,” international ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning mentioned.

    GERMANY

    German International Minister Annalena Baerbock welcomed the deal, hailing it as “a ray of hope for the complete area”.

    “Individuals on either side of the border wish to stay in real and lasting safety,” Baerbock mentioned, calling the deal “successful for diplomacy”.

    UNITED KINGDOM

    British Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised a “lengthy overdue” ceasefire that will “present some measure of reduction to the civilian populations” of each Israel and Lebanon.

    Calling for the truce to be “changed into an enduring political answer in Lebanon”, Starmer vowed to be on the “forefront of efforts to interrupt the continued cycle of violence in pursuit of a long-term, sustainable peace within the Center East”.

    EUROPEAN UNION

    EU chief Ursula von der Leyen hailed the “very encouraging information” of the ceasefire, saying it might enhance Lebanon’s “inner safety and stability”.

    The announcement was welcome information “at first for the Lebanese and Israeli folks affected by the combating”, Von der Leyen mentioned.

    “Lebanon may have a chance to extend inner safety and stability because of Hezbollah’s diminished affect,” she mentioned.

    UNITED NATIONS

    A high UN official welcomed the ceasefire settlement, however warned that “appreciable work lies forward” to implement the deal.

    “Nothing lower than the complete and unwavering dedication of each events is required,” mentioned UN particular coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.
