    What we know about the Israeli strikes on Iran

    TEHRAN: Iran mentioned Israeli air strikes targeting its military sites killed two troopers on Saturday (Oct 26), after Israel mentioned its warplanes carried out raids in retaliation for a missile barrage.

    WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Israeli military mentioned it carried out “exact strikes on army targets in Iran” on Saturday.

    Explosions have been heard in Tehran from round 2.15am (6.45 am, Singapore time), AFP journalists within the Iranian capital mentioned.

    Iranian state tv mentioned the blasts have been attributable to the “activation of the air defence system” in response to an Israeli assault.

    The Israeli army mentioned it concurrently struck missile manufacturing services, surface-to-air missile arrays and different “aerial capabilities”.

    It mentioned later that the air assault had “concluded” its response to Iran’s Oct 1 missile attack, saying its warplanes had returned safely and the mission was “fulfilled”.

    Iran’s air power confirmed strikes on army bases in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces that “brought on restricted harm”.

    The military mentioned two troopers have been killed, whereas the nation’s civil aviation authority introduced the resumption of flights after a short suspension.

    The international ministry mentioned Iran had the “proper and the obligation to defend itself”, citing the United Nations Constitution.

    State media in Syria mentioned Israel additionally launched air strikes on its territory from the occupied Golan Heights and Lebanon.

    Iran and Syria are allies within the so-called “axis of resistance” that additionally contains Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

    Hezbollah mentioned it had fired rockets at a northern Israel intelligence base and drones at an airbase within the south of the nation. The Israeli army mentioned that round 80 projectiles have been fired.
