    US forces strike Iran nuclear sites, Trump says Fordow gone

    WASHINGTON: US forces struck three Iranian nuclear websites in a “very profitable assault”, President Donald Trump mentioned on Saturday (Jun 21), including that Tehran’s nuclear program had been obliterated.

    After days of deliberation and lengthy earlier than his self-imposed two-week deadline, Trump’s determination to hitch Israel’s army marketing campaign in opposition to its main rival Iran represents a serious escalation of the battle.

    “The strikes have been a spectacular army success,” Trump mentioned in a televised Oval Workplace tackle. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment amenities have been fully and completely obliterated.”

    In a speech that lasted simply over three minutes, Trump mentioned Iran’s future held “both peace or tragedy”, and that there have been many different targets that may very well be hit by the US army.

    “If peace doesn’t come rapidly, we are going to go after these different targets with precision, pace and ability.”

    The US reached out to Iran diplomatically on Saturday to say the strikes are all of the US plans and it doesn’t intention for regime change, CBS Information reported.

    Trump mentioned US forces struck Iran’s three principal nuclear websites: Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow. He informed Fox Information six bunker-buster bombs have been dropped on Fordow, whereas 30 Tomahawk missiles have been fired in opposition to different nuclear websites.

    US B-2 bombers have been concerned within the strikes, a US official informed Reuters, talking on situation of anonymity.

    “A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the first web site, Fordow,” Trump posted. “Fordow is gone.”

    “IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR,” he added.

    Reuters had reported earlier on Saturday the motion of the B-2 bombers, which could be geared up to hold huge bombs that specialists say could be wanted to strike Fordow, which is buried below a mountain south of Tehran.

    An Iranian official, cited by Tasnim information company, confirmed that a part of the Fordow web site was attacked by “enemy airstrikes”.

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Trump on his “daring determination”, which he mentioned will change historical past.

    “Historical past will file that President Trump acted to disclaim the world’s most harmful regime, the world’s most harmful weapons,” Netanyahu mentioned.
