    US discusses strikes on Iran oil sites as Israel presses Lebanon offensive

    BEIRUT: The US is discussing strikes on Iran’s oil services as retaliation for Tehran’s missile attack on Israel, President Joe Biden mentioned on Thursday (Oct 3), whereas Israel’s navy pressed forward with its campaign in opposition to Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon.

    As Israel weighs its choices after its arch-foe Iran launched its largest-ever assault on Tuesday, Biden was requested whether or not he would assist Israel putting Iran’s oil services.

    “We’re discussing that,” Biden instructed reporters.

    His feedback contributed to a surge in world oil costs, and rising Center East tensions have made merchants fear about potential provide disruptions.

    “There may be nothing going to occur in the present day,” Biden mentioned. On Wednesday, the president mentioned he wouldn’t assist any Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear websites.
