    UN peacekeepers to ‘stay in all positions’ in Lebanon

    “Towards the backdrop of ongoing hostilities alongside the Blue Line, the members of the Safety Council expressed their robust issues after several UNIFIL positions came under fire prior to now days,” stated the council’s rotating presidency, presently Switzerland’s UN ambassador Pascale Baeriswyl.

    “A number of peacekeepers have been wounded.”

    Within the assertion, which didn’t single out Israel, the 15 council members “urged all events to respect the security and safety of UNIFIL personnel and premises. They recalled that UN peacekeepers and UN premises mustn’t ever be the goal of an assault.”
