    Trump’s renewed interest in Greenland lacks respect, says prime minister

    COPENHAGEN: US President Donald Trump has not handled Greenlanders with respect since expressing his renewed curiosity in buying the huge, mineral-rich Arctic island, Greenland’s prime minister was quoted on Monday (Mar 10) as saying.

    Trump reiterated his curiosity in buying the island throughout his tackle to Congress final Tuesday, portray an image of prosperity and security for the “unimaginable individuals” of Greenland, an autonomous territory of the dominion of Denmark.

    Trump reaffirmed that message in a Fact Social publish early on Monday, writing: “We’ll proceed to maintain you protected, as we’ve got since World Struggle II. We’re prepared to speculate billions of {dollars} to create new jobs and make you wealthy.”

    Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egede instructed Danish public broadcaster DR in an interview aired on Monday: “We should be handled with respect, and I do not suppose the US president has finished that lately since he took workplace.”
