William Banks, professor emeritus on the Syracuse College’s division of public administration and worldwide affairs, mentioned Nationwide Guard and US Marine personnel are skilled for conflict and coping with international forces, not implementing civilian legal guidelines.
“Though they do not have reside ammunition, they are not skilled to deal with residents, (not like) the police. There’s an actual danger that if this type of operation (goes on) … unhealthy issues may occur,” he instructed CNA’s Asia First.
