So long as I’m alive, the cedar within the entrance yard and the 2 Douglas firs within the yard of the Madrona house my dad and mom bought in 1947 is not going to be torn down by builders. I’ve watched them develop all through my 76 years right here on this stunning metropolis.
Most of my neighbors notice it, however whether or not they do or not, these timber are an incredible profit to the complete neighborhood. Chopping down mature timber shouldn’t be important to the need of accelerating housing density throughout the Seattle metropolis limits, and the Metropolis Council must rescind its ill-advised 2023 improvement ordinance that has resulted within the destruction of far too many invaluable timber.
