Purple Bull driver Max Verstappen nonetheless makes headlines even when he is not profitable races.
After ripping the FIA for a rule change on the Monaco Grand Prix final weekend, the 27-year-old Dutch driver stirred up one other controversy on the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.
With three laps remaining within the 66-lap race, Verstappen was fourth, and Mercedes driver George Russell was fifth. Purple Bull informed Verstappen to let Russell go him after they ran into one another on a security automobile restart on lap No. 62.
It appeared Verstappen would try this, however he collided with Russell earlier than flying out of Flip 5. Race stewards gave him a 10-second penalty for the incident, dropping him to tenth.
