LONDON: King Charles visits Southport in northern England on Tuesday (Aug 20) to pay tribute to the victims and households of those that witnessed a mass stabbing final month which sparked nights of riots and racist attacks concentrating on Muslims and migrants.
Three younger ladies have been killed and others have been wounded within the Jul 29 assault, which sparked the riots after on-line misinformation wrongly mentioned it had been dedicated by an Islamist migrant.
A 17-year-old boy, who the police mentioned was born in Britain, was charged with three counts of homicide, 10 counts of tried homicide and certainly one of possession of a bladed article.
Charles has praised the group spirit, compassion and resilience that countered aggression and criminality from the rioters, and mentioned he hoped mutual respect and understanding would proceed to unite the nation.
