    Israeli army strike hits Hezbollah facility in south Lebanon

    JERUSALEM: The Israeli navy on Thursday (Nov 28) stated it hit a facility in southern Lebanon belonging to Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah, a day after a ceasefire between the group and Israel started.

    “A short time in the past, terrorist exercise was recognized in a facility utilized by Hezbollah to retailer mid-range rockets in southern Lebanon. The menace was thwarted by an (Israeli Air Drive) plane,” the navy stated in a press release.

    “The (Israeli military) stays in southern Lebanon and performing to implement violations of the ceasefire settlement,” it added.

    The mayor of the city of Baysariyeh in southern Lebanon, Nazih Eid, advised AFP “a warplane launched a raid about an hour in the past on the jap fringe of the city of Baysariyeh. They focused a forested space not accessible to civilians”.

    The military earlier on Thursday stated it fired at a number of suspects “arriving with autos to quite a lot of areas in southern Lebanon, breaching the situations of the ceasefire”.

    The truce ended a battle that started a day after Hamas’ unprecedented Oct 7, 2023 assault on Israel, killing hundreds in Lebanon and sparking mass displacements in each Lebanon and Israel.

    The Israeli navy has additionally introduced a nighttime curfew in south Lebanon, warning residents it’s “strictly forbidden to maneuver or journey south of the Litani River” between 5pm (3pm GMT) on Thursday and 7am (5am GMT) the next day.
