The top of the UN’s Worldwide Atomic Power Company (IAEA) has introduced an “emergency assembly” on the organisation’s headquarters in Vienna for Monday (Jun 23) after the US struck Iranian nuclear sites.
After US President Donald Trump determined to hitch Israel’s marketing campaign in opposition to Tehran’s atomic programme, america on Sunday bombarded three nuclear websites in Iran, together with a uranium-enriching facility at Fordo situated 90 metres underground.
“In gentle of the pressing state of affairs in Iran, I’m convening an emergency assembly of the @IAEAorg Board of Governors for tomorrow,” Rafael Grossi wrote on X on Sunday.
The assembly will begin at 10am (4pm, Singapore time) on the company’s Vienna headquarters.
Trump mentioned the US air strikes, which he mentioned have been geared toward stopping Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, although Tehran fiercely denies wanting to take action, “completely obliterated” the Islamic republic’s important atomic websites.
