Elements of US protectionism preceded Trump’s second time period – and international locations the world over have been pushing for higher self-sufficiency for a while. Is that this drive for higher self-sufficiency misguided? Is true self-sufficiency even doable? Or may the key to financial safety come from extra co-operation, not much less?
