    GOLD COAST: The perimeter of a tropical cyclone began whipping japanese Australia on Thursday (Mar 6), bringing drenching rains and record-breaking waves to a closely populated area not often hit by typhoons.

    Tropical Cyclone Alfred was 285km east of Brisbane after unexpectedly slowing above the Coral Sea in a single day, authorities forecasts mentioned.
