SUVA: Seven foreigners together with 4 Australians and an American have been hospitalised after consuming cocktails at a five-star Fiji lodge resort, well being officers stated on Sunday (Dec 15).

The lodge visitors have been taken to hospital on Saturday evening struggling “nausea, vomiting and neurological signs”, Fiji’s well being ministry stated in an announcement.

They fell unwell after consuming a cocktail ready at a bar within the luxurious Warwick Fiji resort on the Coral Coast, about 60km west of the capital Suva, it stated.

A ministry spokesperson stated the visitors, aged from 18 to 56, included 4 Australians, one American and two foreigners who reside in Fiji, whose nationalities weren’t given.

All seven have been initially taken to the close by Sigatoka hospital.

As a result of severity of their circumstances, they have been later transferred to the bigger Lautoka Hospital on the island’s west coast, the ministry spokesperson stated.

Fiji police are investigating the incident.
