    TOKYO: Japanese tech shares fell on Tuesday (Jan 28) following a plunge in US tech stocks pushed by the emergence of a low-cost Chinese generative AI model.

    US chipmaker Nvidia led a rout on Wall Road, falling practically 17 per cent on fears that Chinese language agency DeepSeek’s chatbot might threaten US dominance in synthetic intelligence. Nvidia inventory was up barely in after-hours buying and selling.
