    China urges EU to be ‘objective and fair’ on South China Sea issue

    BEIJING: China urged the European Union to be “goal and truthful” and cautious with phrases and actions on points within the South China Sea after the bloc remarked on an incident that occurred over the weekend.

    China stated it was “strongly dissatisfied” with the European Union’s “accusations” towards it on the difficulty, a press release by the Chinese language mission to the EU confirmed.

    “The European Union shouldn’t be a celebration to the South China Sea situation and has no proper to level fingers on the difficulty,” it stated.

    It additionally stated the EU’s repeated “hyping up” on the liberty of navigation situation “has no advantages to the EU’s personal pursuits and worldwide credibility”.

    China and the Philippines exchanged accusations of deliberately ramming coastguard vessels in disputed waters of the South China Sea on Saturday, the most recent in an escalating sequence of clashes.

    The collision close to the Sabina Shoal was their fifth maritime confrontation in a month in a long-standing rivalry over the important waterway.

    The EU stated in a Sunday (Sep 1) assertion that it condemned the “harmful actions by China Coast Guard vessels towards lawful Philippine maritime operations” within the sea.
