    China slams transfer, warning that Philippines dangers ‘arms race’ amid elevated militarisation of South China Sea.

    The Philippines has introduced plans to purchase the USA’ Typhon missile system, triggering China to warn of an impending “arms race” within the Asia Pacific area.

    Philippine navy chief Lieutenant-Basic Roy Galido mentioned on Monday that the nation would purchase the mid-range missile system, already deployed by the US army on its territory for annual joint navy workout routines, “for the curiosity of defending our sovereignty”.
