    Israel accuses Hamas of ‘reneging’ on parts of Gaza deal; Cabinet meeting delayed

    JERUSALEM: Israel on Thursday (Jan 16) accused Hamas of backtracking on components of the Gaza ceasefire deal announced a day earlier, and mentioned the Cupboard won’t meet on the deal till Hamas’s settlement is confirmed.

    “Hamas has reneged on components of the settlement reached with the mediators and Israel in an effort to extort last-minute concessions,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s workplace mentioned in an announcement, including the scenario created a “final minute disaster”.

    It didn’t specify which components of the deal have been at problem.

    The assertion added that the Israeli Cupboard, which has but to approve the settlement, “won’t convene till the mediators notify Israel that Hamas has accepted all components of the settlement”.
