    Sanctions come amid mass protests towards the Georgian authorities’s resolution to pause EU accession efforts.

    The USA has sanctioned Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgia’s former prime minister and founding father of the governing Georgian Dream get together, amid protests against a pause in European Union accession efforts.

    In a press release on Friday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that Ivanishvili and his party had undermined democratic establishments and “derailed Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic future” to the good thing about Russia.
