    Russian antivirus company leaving the US after ban

    Russian antivirus big Kaspersky Labs has instructed BBC Information that it’s leaving the US after the Biden administration banned gross sales and distribution of the agency’s software program.

    Kaspersky mentioned it had made the “unhappy and tough resolution” to depart “as enterprise alternatives within the nation are not viable”.

    It comes after Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo mentioned final month that Moscow’s affect over the corporate posed a major threat to US infrastructure and companies.

    Kaspersky, which had been working within the US for 20 years, has denied the allegations.

    “Ranging from July 20, 2024 Kaspersky will progressively wind down its US operations and remove US-based positions,” the agency mentioned in an announcement.
