KYIV: Russia on Thursday (Nov 7) demanded that Kyiv’s allies enter into negotiations with Moscow so as to halt its brutish assaults on Ukrainians, because the capital fended off a large-scale drone barrage in a single day.

AFP journalists in Kyiv heard Ukrainian air defence items capturing down the Russian drones all through the evening whereas air raid sirens echoed out over the town.

The pinnacle of Russia’s Safety Council Sergei Shoigu made the decision for negotiations, saying the West confronted a alternative between getting into into talks with Moscow on the battle or the continuing “destruction” of Ukraine’s population.

“Now, when the state of affairs within the theatre of fight shouldn’t be in Kyiv’s favour, the West is confronted with a alternative,” Shoigu stated at a gathering with defence officers of different former Soviet states.

“To proceed financing (Kyiv) and the destruction of the Ukrainian inhabitants or recognise the present realities and begin negotiating,” the previous defence minister stated.

They have been among the many first comments from a Russian official since Donald Trump, who has boasted he may finish the battle in a single day, was confirmed to have been elected president of the US – Ukraine’s fundamental political and navy ally.

And his feedback got here as Ukrainian officers have been taking inventory after one other evening of aerial bombardments throughout the nation and whereas Moscow claimed the seize of yet one more village in east Ukraine.

Moscow stated its forces had wrested management of Kreminna Balka, a village that had a pre-war inhabitants of fewer than 50 individuals within the industrial Donetsk area the place Ukrainian defences have been pushed again time and again.
