WASHINGTON: US Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a concession speech to the nation on Wednesday (Nov 6) after a whirlwind marketing campaign that did not cease Republican Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

“Whereas I concede this election, I don’t concede the struggle that fuelled this marketing campaign,” she informed supporters, lots of them in tears, at her alma mater Howard College, a traditionally Black faculty in Washington.

Harris pledged to proceed combating for girls’s rights and towards gun violence and to “struggle for the dignity that each one individuals deserve”.

She stated she had known as President-elect Trump, congratulated him on his triumph and promised to have interaction in a peaceable switch of energy.

The somber temper was in hanging distinction to the homecoming a number of weeks in the past on the Howard campus when 1000’s of scholars and alumni gathered forward of what they hoped can be the election of the nation’s first graduate of traditionally Black Faculties and Universities as president.

Harris addressed a crowd that included former Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi, aides in President Joe Biden’s White Home and 1000’s of followers. Harris’ marketing campaign anthem, Beyonce’s “Freedom”, performed as she entered the stage.

Her working mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, joined the gang.

Harris inspired her supporters, particularly younger individuals, not to surrender even of their disappointment.

“Typically the struggle takes some time. That does not imply we can’t win,” she stated.
