    British businessman to remain in custody on charge of killing Indonesian woman in Hong Kong

    HONG KONG: A British businessman was ordered on Friday (Nov 1) to stay in custody after being charged with homicide in Hong Kong over the demise of an Indonesian girl at a park waterfall.

    Jamie Tzewee Chapman, 34, didn’t enter a plea within the court docket look and his lawyer didn’t request bail. The decide adjourned the case to January to permit time for additional investigation.

    Chapman and his spouse, a Hong Konger, had been arrested on Tuesday once they returned to the town from mainland China. His spouse had been held on suspicion of aiding an offender earlier than being launched on bail pending additional investigation, police stated on Thursday.

    Police stated Chapman and the Indonesian girl went collectively to a waterfall in a park in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island on Sunday night time. He left alone in a taxi half about an hour later, and residents noticed the girl’s physique within the pond beneath the waterfall on Monday morning, police stated. She had been struck within the head and drowned.
