    SINGAPORE: Police in India’s monetary capital Mumbai have arrested a minor for allegedly posting on-line bomb threats earlier this week, India’s aviation minister mentioned on Wednesday (Oct 16).

    Indian airways received a spate of threats to home and worldwide flights on their social media pages, all of which have been false alarms.

    “Such mischievous and illegal actions are a matter of grave concern and I strongly condemn any makes an attempt to compromise the protection, safety and operational integrity of our aviation sector,” mentioned Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, the nation’s civil aviation minister, in a press release posted on Fb. 

    “We’re carefully monitoring the state of affairs and guaranteeing that each essential measures are taken in opposition to such actions,” he added. 

    The minister mentioned a minor, who was not named, had been arrested.

    Native media reported that the police had detained a 17-year-old boy from Rajnandgaon metropolis within the state of Chhattisgarh. The teenager allegedly issued the threats to border a pal who he had a monetary dispute with.

    Based on information web site NDTV, the boy had posted the threats utilizing an account on social media platform X that bore the deal with of his pal. 

    The boy’s father and the proprietor of the X account that was used have been additionally summoned by the police for questioning, India’s Financial Occasions reported. 

    Naidu mentioned that the boy was liable for threats focusing on three flights. 

    The threats posted on Monday concerned two IndiGo flights – one to Muscat, Oman and one other to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – and an Air India one to New York, reported the Financial Occasions.

    “All others liable for the disruptions will probably be recognized and duly punished,” mentioned Naidu.
