    Emirates bans pagers, walkie-talkies on its flights after Lebanon blasts

    DUBAI: Dubai-based airline Emirates has banned pagers and walkie-talkies on board its planes following sabotage assaults in Lebanon, and prolonged flight cancellations for Center East locations because of regional escalation.

    “All passengers travelling on flights to, from or by way of Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie-talkies in checked or cabin baggage,” the service mentioned, weeks after a wave of exploding communication units utilized by the Iran-backed Hezbollah group, which blamed Israel for the assaults.

    In an announcement posted on its web site on Friday (Oct 4), Emirates mentioned that “such objects present in passengers’ hand baggage or checked baggage shall be confiscated by Dubai Police”.

    The blasts last month killed at the least 37 individuals and wounded almost 3,000 throughout Lebanon.

    Emirates, the Center East’s greatest airline, additionally introduced that its Iraq and Iran routes will stay suspended till Tuesday.
