    Trump ceasefire plan falters as Israel says Iran launched more missiles; Tehran denies violation

    Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz mentioned on Tuesday (Jun 24) he had ordered the army to strike Tehran in response to what he mentioned have been missiles fired by Iran in a violation of the ceasefire introduced hours earlier by United States President Donald Trump.

    Iran denied violating the ceasefire. The armed forces basic workers denied that there had been any launch of missiles in the direction of Israel in latest hours, Iran’s Nour Information reported.

    The developments raised early doubts concerning the ceasefire, meant to finish 12 days of warfare.

    Katz mentioned in an announcement he had ordered the army to “proceed high-intensity operations focusing on regime belongings and terror infrastructure in Tehran” in gentle of “Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the US”.

    Hours earlier, Trump had posted on Fact Social: “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had confirmed the ceasefire, saying Israel had achieved the targets it had set in launching its Jun 13 shock assault on Iran, to destroy its nuclear programme and missile capabilities.

    “Israel thanks President Trump and the US for his or her help in defence and their participation in eliminating the Iranian nuclear risk,” Netanyahu had mentioned.

    Iran says its nuclear programme is solely for peaceable functions and denies looking for to develop nuclear weapons.

    Iran’s prime safety physique, the Supreme Nationwide Safety Council, mentioned its army had pressured Israel to “unilaterally settle for defeat and settle for a ceasefire”.

    International inventory markets surged and oil costs tumbled on Tuesday after the announcement of the ceasefire, within the hope it heralded a decision of the warfare simply two days after the US joined it by hitting Iranian nuclear sites with enormous bunker-busting bombs.
