Justice Clarence Thomas’ opinion that banning assault weapons could also be unconstitutional is simply mistaken pondering. There isn’t any Second Modification violation right here. Weapons aren’t being banned, solely sure kinds of weapons. That is no totally different than proscribing free speech. The well being and security of residents outweigh any unfettered freedom afforded by the Structure.
The truth that the AR-15 is so standard when it’s designed for killing folks with most effectivity and has been persistently used for mass homicide must be a wake-up name for all of us.
