To the editor: I’m 70 years outdated and I’ve achieved my share of protesting. For instance, on the preliminary day of George W. Bush’s warfare towards Iraq in 2003, I used to be the primary demonstrator on the Westwood Federal Constructing, holding up an indication that learn “George W. Bush, the Actual Physician Evil” (referencing the then-popular “Austin Powers” motion pictures) for the hundreds of Wilshire Boulevard motorists who drove previous me.
I noticed Bush supporters start to smile after they noticed the president’s title, solely to see their response rapidly flip to flipping me off or yelling an obscenity after they learn the remainder of my signal.

Apart from Goldberg’s perception that Trump’s deployment of the Nationwide Guard will not be but unlawful, I agree along with his different factors, particularly that demonstrating violently is prohibited and politically self-defeating. Violence merely performs into Trump’s fingers.
Trump is probably the most vile president ever and there are scores of causes to march towards him, his actions and his insurance policies. I’ve achieved so earlier than and I’ll once more. They need to, nevertheless, be peaceable demonstrations in an effort to assist thwart his tyranny.
