    Israeli military says captive rescued from Gaza tunnel | Israel-Palestine conflict News

    Kaid Farhan al-Kadi has been rescued in a ‘complicated operation’ within the southern Gaza Strip, says the military.

    Israel says its particular forces have recovered an Israeli captive from a tunnel within the southern Gaza Strip in “a fancy rescue operation”, because the conflict, now in its eleventh month, exhibits no indicators of abating.

    Kaid Farhan al-Kadi, a 52-year-old Bedouin, was kidnapped by the Palestinian group Hamas throughout its October 7 assault on Israel, the army stated in a press release on Tuesday.

    The army stated al-Kadi is in “a steady medical situation” and has been transferred to a hospital for medical checks.

    Al-Kadi is a resident of Rahat, a primarily Arab city. On October 7, he had been working as a guard at a warehouse in southern Israel when he was captured by Hamas-backed fighters together with some 250 other people.     Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confronted intense criticism from families of the captives and far of the Israeli public for not but reaching a take care of Hamas to convey them house.

    Hamas hopes to commerce the captives for a lasting ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza and the discharge of numerous Palestinian prisoners.

    Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan stated Tuesday’s operation befell in southern Gaza’s Rafah city on the border with Egypt.

    “Israel desires management of that border crossing, so that is going to offer Israel the impetus to say, ‘This is the reason we’d like extra management over Rafah,’” Khan stated, calling it “a sticking level” within the ceasefire negotiations.

    He added that solely seven or eight captives have been rescued in Israeli army operations, whereas 105 captives had been launched in November in ceasefire negotiations, “an enormous quantity”.

    “It goes to show that if you’re severe, and if you’d like these folks again, {that a} negotiated ceasefire is the one approach ahead,” stated Khan.

    “But Netanyahu and [his] coalition is dragging its toes with regards to negotiations. In actual fact, they maintain upping the ante … They’re now speaking inside the public sphere about reoccupying Gaza. That’s an actual concern to Hamas and the worldwide neighborhood.”
