To the editor: The lack of Will Rogers’ ranch home and homestead within the Palisades hearth is deeply saddening (“At historic home of Will Rogers, a painful question after fire: What comes next?” Could 4). Rogers was an excellent American humorist and humanist whose folksy fashion can be welcome in the present day. His Despair-era quip — “There’s as a lot cash in the present day as there ever was. Solely fewer individuals have it” — is as related in the present day because it was when he stated it. I hope that his reminiscence can proceed to be honored on the property.
The eucalyptus timber that he had planted, sadly, might have been partly accountable for the lack of the ranch, since they’re a really flamable species. Although they’re traditionally important, it appears logical to switch them with a local tree resembling coast reside oak, which is hearth resistant and supplies nice habitat for the native wildlife.

To the editor: I’m sorry to be taught Rogers’ ranch home burned down. He is a vital a part of Americana, and employees author Hailey Branson-Potts did a tremendous job of summarizing this wonderful man’s legacy. A favourite quip of Rogers’ sticks with me: “I’m not a member of any organized political occasion. I’m a Democrat.”
