    Belgian prosecutors arrest suspects in Huawei bribery probe targeting EU parliament

    BRUSSELS: Belgian federal prosecutors on Thursday (Mar 13) introduced the arrests of a number of individuals in a corruption probe linked to the European Parliament and the Chinese language firm Huawei, which is suspected of bribing EU lawmakers.

    The arrests got here as an investigation by Le Soir newspaper and different media mentioned lobbyists working for the Chinese language telecoms big have been suspected of bribing present or former European Parliament members to advertise the corporate’s industrial insurance policies in Europe.

    The prosecutor’s workplace confirmed in a press release that the alleged bribery “is claimed to have benefited Huawei”.
